Hi there, i'm new and from Germany

Postby GermanBox » Fri Aug 23, 2013 7:35 am

Hi,

my Name is Johannes and live close to Munich in Germany. I'm 27 and been thru some cars already. Started like most people with a Civic, then i had S13's, 1st Gen Miata, Lexus IS300 and a SC400. Currently i'm spending most of my free time lookin for the right bB on tradecarview. Haven't made a real decision yet, cause i'm not sure on preface or facelift model.
There are pro's and contra's on each of them. Pro for a pre 03 is the shorter Frontbumper and there are more 1.5's avilable. Pro on the 03+ Model, the rear looks way better, i think the trunk door looks weird without the Licenseplate and the longer Rear bumper flows better in my eyes. The plate in the bumper on the pre 03 makes the bumper look tiny and overloaded.
Maybe i'll find a 03+ with a preface frontend, that'd be the best thing :D
Anyway, i've already spend much time on reading on here and it helped alot. Got some Inspiration and also know what i need to buy first :)

Duh' been quite some time till I signed up on here.
Haven't bought a box yet, just because I didn't look hard enough. Since signing up on here, I've wasted my time on an E36, a Daihatsu Mira, anothe 1st Gen IS, a Civic and currently wondering why I ended up with an W210 Benz.
Been looking at Boxes over the years and haven't made the step to actually buy one. But the itch to buy one is still here and strong, maybe stronger since there was a Scion xB for sale local. Sadly it was in poor condition with almost 200k miles on it, also on the downside, it still had an American title and would cost me morethan a decent one from Japland.

Maybe you guys can help me out. Aside from aesthetics like bumpers and dashboard panels, are there major pro and cons between the early Jap ones or the 2003 upwards models?

So I did it, I bought a japanese Zenki bB. I will swap the center console to a Kouki one down the road.
Found it on tradecarview and I'm awaiting the invoice to pay for it and get it shipped early march.

This box on here inspired me, because it has oldschool german wheels and I love the idea with the vinyl.

Now I'm looking for a vinyl with the great wave of kanagawa.

I think it will flow well with the blue.

The payment process was a pain in the ass. My bank didn't do transfers to Japan, and there's no way of using a credit card, PayPal or any other payment service. The payment failed three times due to some transfer options. In the end my brother did it for me and today the payment finally arrived in Japan.
Now I'm waiting for the shipping schedule and I'm more than impatient for the car to arrive.
The import regulations giving me a hard time already. Since January it isn't allowed to bring R134a from outside of Germany into our country. So the refrigerant needs to be disposed at the port. Sucks, 150€'s down the drain!
Then it needs to be refilled in Germany with R134a again. A total waste in my opinion.

Update time,

Finally received a shipping schedule. But I'm not that happy, because it's leaving Japan no sooner than April 17th. The estimated arrival date is June 5th, but possibly a few days later.
I hate waiting

It's lonely here :)

In case someone's still online over here, the cars documents are in their way to Germany and I should have them by Thursday.
I'm excited! The car itself Is on the ship and somewhere close to Taiwan right now. But it takes another 6 weeks until it arrives here.

In case someone is interested, it's getting closer now!
The car arrives in 7 days, maybe less. Then it must clear customs and the week after I'm going to pick it up with a trailer

The car is stunning, currently in the progress to get it road legal over here.
Already bought some LED Tails. Need to get on my Laptop to share some pictures with you, because the Flickr app doesn't help when it comes to pictures sharing on forums

Now some pictures.

This was the moment it has been delivered at my grandparents place. Going to bring it home in the next weeks.

Didn't take many pics yet, because it's not at my place. Need to take more when it comes to cleaning. I found a 6 disc minidisc charger in the car, there are some discs left, so i need to figure out how it works. Anyone had his hands on a Sony Minidisc Charger that works with a Radio transmitter? All manuals online are in japanese.

That's how far i got with modding recently, just some JDM Sonar Taillights. Next step is changing all fluids and filters. And hopefully a german registration by the end of September.
